Are you ready? . . .  December 2017
I’ve had only two dreams from God in my life, but wow were they powerful! The first one was 23 years ago, and as if I needed another reminder because the first one I didn’t fully follow through on, I had another one 12 years ago. They both had the same theme, namely, that I was not ready to meet my maker when the time came. This was the second dream as I wrote it on 20/4/2005 :
I had a dream. It turned into a nightmare! The beginning is vague! Comings and goings to somewhere and nowhere along a road and through a tunnel I could never know each time where it was taking me. Eventually, one day we were told we had to get out of town, because the lava was coming! I thought there was plenty of time and that I had a  couple of weeks and so dilly-dallied. I didn’t remember the way out, but thought I had plenty of time to find out. I decided suddenly to pack a few of my most precious possessions (even though I knew we weren’t supposed to stop and do this) Favourite clothes, scarves, jewellery and stuff that had a lot of emotional memories and that I didn’t want to leave behind. I was in the middle of doing this and wondering how to get out, because I still hadn’t found out, when I realized it was very quiet. Everyone had gone. I was alone. I opened the front door and lava was all around me pouring down the streets. It was all around me, everywhere. I knew I  had waited too long. I was alone. I was aware that I was about to die an awful, painful death, and it was my fault. The feeling of terror that came over me is indescribable!
At this point I awoke. I was in my own bed, snuggled under the blankets and I realized it was only a dream. But in another moment, I realized it was from God!
To be very plain and to the point, God showed me how empty and fruitless my life was, and how much importance I placed upon the THINGS of this world, appearances, looking cool, and being trendy. The death I was about to die was not just physical, but eternal. I  gave  away  just  about every scarf  I  owned after  that  to prove  to  myself that those things were no longer important to that degree. It was very hard to do. But it freed me. I still have a love for those things, but they no longer rule. Also, to this day I cannot watch anything that involves volcanoes, because it gives me too vivid a picture of the excruciating pain and sheer terror of an eternity without God.
It brought me to my senses. The things of this world are momentary but life in Christ Jesus is eternal. There is nothing that is more important than the state of my soul, for it is in the soul realm that decisions are made.
The decision to continue living according to the world’s standards or the decision to live for Christ.
The decision to pursue death or  the decision to pursue eternal life.
“This world is fading away, along with everything it craves. But if you do the will of God, you will live forever.” 1 John 2:17.
My Word! . . .
The reason I chose to tell you this story, is not to be preachy or scare the pants off you, but to be real. And you may ask what does it have to do with the Christmas we have just celebrated?
Well, we celebrated a little child being born, who happens to be the Son of the Most High God. And He is Wonderful to know. He is my Counsellor, He is Almighty God, and my Everlasting Father, Who brings Peace to my heart and soul. He is Jesus. Prophesied by Isaiah several hundred years before Jesus was born. And without the graciousness of God in bringing that dream to me, I would not be experiencing His wonder and His peace in my heart and soul each day. I do however  admit in all honesty that this does not make me perfect and that now might be a good time to give a few scarves away (so to speak) for I do tend to get so distracted doing things that are unimportant rather than concentrating on the immediate issues. But all in all ~ I know my Redeemer lives!
And it all began one cool starry night in Bethlehem, over 2,000 years ago now, when the Messiah, that is, Jesus Christ the Lord, was born in a humble manger. He came to save us from our sins and the ensuing eternal death.
Without Christ in our hearts we cannot ever see God.
"I am the way, the truth, and the life, no-one can come to the Father except through Me." Jesus, in John 14:6.
My prayer ~ This New Year, tap into the God of your childhood, and invite Jesus to come and settle in your heart. This will bring a new wonder and peace to your soul unmatched by any other experience you could ever have.

New Life . . .  November 2016
Very recently my Dad passed away. He was ninety-one and had lived a very full and productive life. I was not present when he passed so I decided I wanted to go to the funeral parlour prior to the funeral to view his body. During a very restless sleep the night before I began wrestling with the problem of whether I really wanted to do that or not. I asked the Lord whether I should or not because I didn’t want to have any regrets, and in that moment I saw very clearly that my Dad was not here anymore because he had risen to be with Jesus, and I would only be looking at his earthly body. The real man was gone to heaven. It is so beautiful and exciting and truly wonderful that because my Dad loved the Lord and lived a life accordingly, he is now in that life eternal existence we call heaven.
This is what we can look forward to when we give our hearts to Jesus. I do not know how anyone can live without a relationship with the Lord, especially at times of loss and the grief that ensues. It is this closeness to God that brings us through these times. Yes we grieve and miss our loved ones, but when we know and understand the things regarding life and death there is much less anxiety and so much more peace and comfort from Holy Spirit that makes it much easier.
My Dad now has a new life free from pain, loss, grief and any suffering or sadness. I long for the same eternal glory for myself and all my family and friends and acquaintances. With the help of God’s Word and His Holy Spirit revelation and power we can achieve marvellous things in our lives. In the name of Jesus we can be healed, we can have all our needs met, we can go to God in prayer and believe for the healing of relationships, of marriages, of those we know who are struggling with life. And God is more than able to perform miracles when needed. He has calmed storms, fed five thousand with only a few fish and bread rolls, stopped the waters so that Moses could lead his people out of Egypt, healed leprosy, paralytics, and raised from the dead.
There is a verse in Revelation that describes the main street in heaven as being made from gold, like glass. Can you imagine that? And that’s where my Dad is now! And my Grandma and Grandpa and countless others. And if you’re not sure about all this then I have a testimony regarding my Grandma.
She was a lady who was not really brought up in church at all. She experienced great loss in her life by the death of her second daughter. She grew into a very bitter woman. In her early eighties she was quite senile and this is where God is so gracious. I prayed that God would open up a moment of clarity for her to receive Him into her heart. We prayed the prayer ever so slowly until it all was said. I left wondering about how I was going to know if she had received anything. A little while later one of my sisters was singing praise songs by her bedside and she joined in. You had to know my Grandma to understand that this was a fair dinkum confirmation of what God had done! Because, you see, we are firstly a spirit, and we have a soul (mind) and we live in an earthly body, so it was her spirit that God appealed to. He can do anything!
God so loved the world, He sent His only Son, so that when we believe in Him, we may have eternal life! When God raised Jesus from the dead, it paved the way for us to be able to follow Him (Jesus) when we pass from this life, to Life Eternal. A new dimension. A New Life in the presence of our God.
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose trust is the Lord ~ Jeremiah 17:7

The Day of Salvation . . .  August/September 2016
I feel a real heaviness lately for the world and the direction in which we are heading. Not regarding wars and rumours of wars around the globe. Not regarding even the hunger that millions suffer from. Not even regarding the injustices upon women and children. Don’t get me wrong, I grieve for those incomprehensible wrongs. But the most insidious behaviour of my fellow man for me, is the absolute degradation of our attitude toward God. Which of course, is why all the above atrocities are happening in the world today. I find it puzzling, that whether we’ve been taught about God or not as we were growing up, that we can believe the evolution story, or that there is no God at all. Who caused the ‘big bang’? Something had to. The Gospel of John 1:1-3 says this ~ “In the beginning was the Word (Jesus) and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being by Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.”
I definitely believe in the ‘big bang’, because when God’s  powerful voice spoke the words “Let there be light” (Gen 1:3)  the resounding noise that would have taken place, considering the speed of light, would have been enormous. A HUGE bang! And that’s an understatement!
I have been raised my entire life, learning about God, so it has been easier for me than many who were not. But, I want to ask you several questions ~ You’ve been born into this world, feel happiness, joy, pain, rejection, and some of us insufferable pain and loss. Why do you think you are here? Do you really think there is nothing after this life? If so, don’t you feel cheated? Do you think just spending your life working, working, working, for a home and children, and grandchildren, and being a good person, then dying, is enough?
These are all interesting questions. But being ’good’ is not enough. You can be as good as you like and spend your entire life helping others, but if you do not believe in God the Father and His Son Jesus and the sacrifice that was made for you at Calvary, then life, and all your achievements are in vain. If you do not recognize that there is a higher power than yourself and that His great love redeemed you from eternal death, then life is worthless. I’m not scientific at all, but I do know that the laws of gravity and all the rest that keep our vast solar system and all the rest in place are quite intricate and therefore MUST be controlled by more than BANG! and whoops, everything just fell into place! And stays in place!!! Wow, what a coincidence. That was lucky!
God is real. God is good. He is wise beyond measure. His wisdom is ~ Pure ~ Peaceable ~ Gentle ~ Reasonable ~ Full of mercy and good fruits ~ Unwavering ~ and, Without  hypocrisy (James 3:17)
There are some people in the world who treat others abominably. They abuse, ridicule, steal, but how about considering that others should be treated how you would like to be treated. We reap what we sow. In other words, you treat others badly, then it will come back to you. There are others out there who gossip and bad-mouth and slander others, for what reason, is beyond me. The advent of FaceBook and other such media, has made it easy for the otherwise reserved ones to destroy with words those he/she does not like. Sometimes to the loss of their lives. While children around the world are starving and/or being abducted and sold into the sex slave industry; while nations are murdering their citizens by the thousands just because they don’t believe the same doctrine as their slayers; while the powers that be are all plotting against each other to be the reigning supremacy; we are back-biting, revelling in luxury (compared to some around the world) and in general, just couldn’t care less about the bigger picture.
And the big picture is this ~ God is real. Jesus did come (God in the flesh) and suffer and die for us. He has always had a plan, and a part of this plan, is Jesus’ return to earth. He is coming back, and we need to be ready. Some call this event Armageddon. Well whatever we call it, it will happen, when Jesus Our Lord will return to sort us all out. So the big question is this ~
Do you know Jesus as your Lord and Saviour?

Out of the Mouths of Babes . . .  March 2016
My two grandsons Levi and Archie were building a cubby in the lounge room with their mates Felicity and Silas. At its entrance they placed one of my paintings that Levi had chosen as his own (pictured left) and then wrote three pages of rules that must be met before entering the lounge room. When their mum, Heidi, walked in to bring them dinner Felicity and Levi hurried out of the cubby and Felicity demanded of her, “Did you give glory to God before you entered this room?” To which mum said, “Uhhh...I think so...” And Levi  replied, “Was it in the highest? ‘Cause it can’t just be any glory ya know!”
In the gospels Jesus tells us that we must come to Him as little children. Just as a child has faith in the promises of his/her parents and does not doubt that they will do what they say, so we are to come to God in the same way. Levi is so right. It is not just any glory that we bring to God. ‘Glory to God in the highest!’ (Luke 2:14) was sung out by the angels at Jesus’ birth. In verse 13 it says that a multitude of the heavenly host were praising God. It was a rip roaring party of the ages that sang of the coming, finally, of the Saviour that God had promised for hundreds of years. As the heavenly host were praising God for this wonderful event, they had no qualms as to what baby Jesus was called to do as He grew and developed into a man. They would not have been celebrating the awful death He was to die but the eternal life that he was to obtain for the world. From Adam and Eve to the very last soul that will be born here on this earth before He (Jesus) returns in ALL His Glory.
God’s love for us is so great that He was willing to sacrifice His only Son, just as Abraham was willing to do, because God had already promised him that he would be the father of many nations, and that could not come to pass if his heir was killed. Abraham knew his God so well that he was confident that God would raise his son again even if the sacrifice had gone ahead. This act of faith is what is called a foreshadowing of what was to come. God needed to test Abraham’s faith to see if there was a man willing to give his only son for Him (God) Because of Abraham’s response, God was willing to sacrifice His Only Son to redeem mankind. And, although He died on a cross, He was raised to life again by God, just as Abraham had known He would have done to his son, Isaac.
In several places throughout the gospels Jesus tells His disciples to have faith in God and they can move mountains. In other words, the mountain of sin in our lives can be forgiven, the mountain of debt can be worn down, the mountain of sickness, disease, infirmity can be demolished and therefore healed. Hebrews 11:6 says, “And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that HE IS, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.”
The whole story of Salvation is tied up in His Glory. It is a Glorious Heaven that was momentarily tainted by Satan’s rebellion and therefore the need to exile him forever to a place that disallows return. It is a Glorious Heaven that celebrated His coming to redeem the world’s loss because of that rebellion and mankind’s fall. It is a Glorious Heaven that we will live in forever with Jesus when we accept the sacrifice He made for us and His Glorious Resurrection. Heaven is Light and Life and Purity and Love and Holiness and Glory beyond our wildest imagination.
Romans 8:18 “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the Glory that is to be revealed to us.”
Levi is so right . . . It’s not just any Glory. God’s Glory encompasses the entire universe, God’s amazing Love, Mercy and Grace, with a depth so profound it is inexpressible. Far beyond what we could ever ask or think or imagine, is what God has for us (1 Corinthians 2:9) Joy immeasureable, forever.
When we confess with our mouths Jesus as Lord, and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, we shall be saved. For with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in Salvation ~ Romans 10:9,10
And verse 11 says that whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed. I’m certainly not! Without Jesus in my life, I could never have made it this far.

Choose Life . . . 2014
If there is no point to life, no reason to be here, no life after death, no purpose, Then why in the first place are we here? It stands to reason that after all the suffering that this life entails, there must be something happening when we die. Otherwise, what's the point? We feel pain in our bodies. We feel pain in our hearts. Some of us suffer, some a little bit, some a great deal. Some of us live with disaster after disaster in our families and some for generations. You may think you are cursed. Well, perhaps that's just what it is. If there is no purpose to this life, and no life after death, I ask again, then why all this suffering? To get to where? To just suffer through this life, and then be no more? To come back as a dog or cat or caterpillar? What a scam! But there is an answer to all these questions!
There IS a purpose to life, and there is a greater being who guides us toward that purpose and beyond. There is hope in a dying and immoral world. There is success for what may seem a lost and hopeless life, for those who genuinely seek truth and freedom. There is, however, only one way to this salvation from the bondage of suffering, loneliness, poverty, sickness, infirmity, loss and grief and the hopelessness that life can bring. There is only one way to find the truth about your purpose here on this planet, and to be able to walk in freedom.
Firstly, we begin with the fact that we are a spirit, we have a soul (mind) and we live in a body. The spirit is our real self. It will live forever. Our soul is where all information is stored, mulled over, and where decisions are made. All of this lives in an earthly body, which when the time comes will drop off and die and our spirit will spend it's time in eternity. The condition of our spirit at point of death, determines where we will spend eternity. Because we have the freedom to make decisions we are given the chance to learn about God, His love for us, and what He achieved for us. We are given the choice to accept Him or deny Him. He is our Creator and our Redeemer. If we are genuinely searching for the meaning of life and the truth about life, He(God) will reveal Himself to us. We are free then, to choose to walk with Him or not.
Jesus said : I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life;  no-one comes to the Father, but through Me ~ John 14:6. Jesus also says to come to Him, if you are weary with life, and greatly burdened, and that He will give you rest, because He is the resurrection and life to all who believe in Him, and even if you die, you shall live forever with Him. He came for those who are in darkness, that they may believe in Him and live in the light ~ Matthew 11:28 ~ John 11:25,26 ~ John 12:46
Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the world, He died for us, and He rose from the dead, and then sent His helper, His Holy Spirit, to strengthen us, guide us, comfort us, give us boldness, and be a constant companion, a true friend, who can be relied upon in any situation life brings. God's great love for us is summed up in this verse from the Gospel of John : "For God so loved the world (that's you and me) that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life" ~ John 3:16
So choose life! Choose to ask Jesus to come and live in your heart and walk with you and help you to succeed in life with the help of His Holy Spirit. Choose life, because the alternative is not pleasant. Jesus says in the Gospels, that if we deny Him, our Father who is in heaven, will deny us. Choose life, because Jesus is the resurrection and the life, and if you believe in Him, you will never die!

The Story of Salvation . . .
God created the earth and all the heavens and the beasts and fishes, and then made Mankind. Adam and Eve walked with God in the garden He created for them. They were created to honour and worship God, and Him only. They put their trust in the serpent (commonly agreed that this was the devil, satan) and turned from God to their own desires. They were kicked out of the garden and a curse (from disobeying God) followed them the rest of their lives and the lives of their descendants. This is when sin entered the earth. It was inherent, and therefore carried from generation to generation in the bloodline. So, sin was now in our blood. God cannot look upon sin. He needed a plan to save mankind from their sin and ultimate death cut off from God for eternity. As time went by man sinned even more and became evil, worshipping their own man-made gods. God searched and searched and finally found a man, Abraham, to be the father of God's new nation. Abraham was a very righteous man. Through this nation, God prepared a time for His Son to be born into this world (leaving the comfort of His heavenly home) to die and shed His blood on our behalf to purge that sin that was in us. All the sickness, disease, depression, poverty, hardship, loss and grief and anything else you can think of that was a result of the original sin, was taken care of on that day that Jesus gave His life for us, a ransom for many. You see, it had to be Jesus, no other man could have done it, because it required a man without sin. Why? Because that was the only way to trick the devil into thinking that he had won, when Jesus died and went to hell. But hell cannot hold a sinless man or woman, and He rose victorious, having taken the keys to sin and death away from the devil so that we can now declare that sin cannot hold us down anymore because Jesus defeated sin at Calvary and by His Resurrection! So now we choose to accept what Jesus did for us, recognise Him as our Saviour, repent of our sin, because, after all, He paid a huge price to save us from that sin, and in fact has forgiven us already, and we therefore forgive others who sin against us, and invite Jesus to come and live once again in our hearts and lead us on this journey of life, until such time as God has for each of us to join Him in eternity.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16
Prayer for Salvation . . .
Father God, I come to you today, and I want to say that I believe in you and I want to experience your eternal love for me, a sinner.
I repent for my sinful ways of the past (name them if you need to) and I now accept the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus, and what He did for me at Calvary.
I believe He died for me and most importantly, that He rose again from the dead.
I believe You, God, are the One, True, God, and I commit to follow You, and You only, from this day onward.
I receive Your Son Jesus, into my heart this very moment, and I thank You Jesus for walking with me from now on and for the rest of my life.
What to do Next . . .
Once you have made the commitment to follow Christ it is a good idea to contact a friend or a family member who is a Christian and let them know that this is what you have done, or perhaps you would like them to lead you in the prayer of Salvation. Either way, it is important that you make contact with someone who can then point you in the direction of a good Church to attend. This is very important for your growth in Christ. A good Church family looks after its people in all areas, from babes to the elderly. It teaches God's Word, Baptism in the Holy Spirit, and how to Evangelise. It teaches Fellowship and Generosity. It teaches Healing and Prosperity. By that I mean that you will learn how to believe for health in your body and how to pray for others to be healed and also healthy finances. And God will begin to show you His purpose for your life, and believe me, it's NEVER too late, and you are never too old. If you do not have a contact who is a Christian, contact your local Shire Offices for a list of local Churches and pluck up the courage to go one Sunday (even ask a friend to go with you) How welcoming the people are on your first morning will probably determine which one you decide to call home.
God Bless You. You have made a courageous decision, and God will continue to keep your heart strong (Psalm 27:14) May He lead you in the right direction to the Church Home He has ~ JUST FOR YOU.
