God is Love . . . January 2018
Sitting in my hospital bed holding my new-born son, I counted his fingers  and  then  I  counted  his  toes, and  suddenly I had a revelation of the One True God, and that only a loving and amazingly creative God could have  given me in all my weakness and frailty such a beautiful thing. It was a defining moment in my life.
You see, I had been raised in a mainstream church and was taught about God, but never learned how to make Him real in my life. So I turned my back on church and even God. There were a few years then, that I did not acknowledge Him at all, even doubting whether He did exist. That moment holding my first-born changed my life.
Godís love for us is so great that He gave us His only Son as a  sacrifice for our sins. Imagine willingly giving your only son to a bunch of bitter hateful murderers to nail to a cross, and not only that, but willingly load him with every sin ever conceived and every disease ever suffered. All for the sake of you and me and even those that crucified Him.
Itís inconceivable to us, what God did for us, and that Jesus was willing to do it. He went to that death willingly, not dragged, but walked right up to that cross and spread His arms out, for you and for me.
I  have  learnt  that if  I  am searching for truth in my life God will reveal it to me. He has  brought me  a  long  way, but I still have a long way to go. I  want to encourage you today, to not give up on God.
He has worked wonders in my life since that day and I am so very thankful for the mercy and grace He has shown to me.
Even if you have been  saved  for  decades, take time  this  week to sit with God and get a  fresh revelation  about the sacrifice  Jesus made  for  you.
If you do not know Jesus yet as your personal Saviour, there is a  prayer below you may like to pray to receive Jesus into your heart.
I believe this New Year coming is going to be a very interesting year in regard to Godís plan for mankind ~ His plans for you and for me.
Welcome to our walk together with God in this year 2018!

Prayer . . .
Father God, I come to you today, and I want to say that I  believe in you, and I want to experience your eternal love for me, a sinner. I repent for my sinful ways of the past (name them if you need to) and I now accept the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus, and what He did for me at Calvary. I believe He died for me and most importantly, that He rose again from the dead. I believe You, God, are the One, True, God, and I commit to   follow You, and You only, from this day onward. I receive Your Son Jesus, into my heart this very moment, and I thank You Jesus for walking with me from now on and for the rest of my life ~ (Romans 10 : 9,10/Matthew 28 : 20)

God is Love . . .  Written some years ago
God's love is so great that He sent His only Son, Jesus, to be born into this world, far, far, removed from the Majesty of His Heavenly Home, to suffer and die for us, that we may have eternal life.
He lived a blameless life and went about preaching of the Kingdom of God.
The devil could not tempt Him or stop what was about to happen.
The devil, however, thought that he had Jesus when as He died, He descended into Hell (because up to this point in time that's where all who died had to go)The righteous who had died were in a part of Hell called Paradise, divided from the torment of sinners by a huge chasm. Jesus was not a sinner and He was welcomed very joyfully by all those righteous who had waited many years for deliverance. Just imagine Him saying something like, "Let's go boys and girls, death cannot hold Me down, it's time to go to the Father." And with those words (my embellishment) Jesus broke through the barrier of death and took His children to Heaven.
His Love is so great it can even break through the chains of death.
When we receive what Jesus did for us at Calvary, and His Resurrection from the dead we inherit Eternal Life. With this inheritance comes an assurance that God is walking with us each day, and as we learn more about our Saviour by reading His Word, we begin to learn even more of God's Great Love for mankind.
"See how great a love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God." 1 John 3:1
